Acute painAdult & childn ≥14 yr 500 mg tds, usually not to exceed 1 wk. Primary dysmenorrhoea 500 mg tds, starting w/ onset of bleeding & associated symptoms. Not to exceed 7 days of use.
Should be taken with food: Preferably taken w/ food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Bronchospasm, allergic rhinitis or urticaria; active ulceration or upper/lower GIT chronic inflammation. Preexisting renal disease, renal impairment.
Discontinue use at 1st appearance of skin rash, mucosal lesions or any other sign of hypersensitivity. Serious skin reactions eg, generalised bullous fixed drug eruption (GBFDE); exfoliative dermatitis, TEN, SJS. Patients w/ CV disease or risk; HTN; fluid retention, oedema or heart failure. History of GI events & other risk factors associated w/ PUD eg, alcoholism, smoking & corticosteroid therapy. Closely monitor BP during NSAID initiation & at regular intervals thereafter. Concomitant use w/ non-selective NSAIDs, aspirin, anticoagulants. Renal impairment & history of kidney or liver disease. Not recommended during late pregnancy. Not to be taken during lactation. Childn <14 yr. Elderly or debilitated patients.
