Indications/Uses
FC tab: Relief of symptoms associated w/ allergic rhinitis, urticaria in adults & adolescents ≥12 yr. Syr: Rapid relief of symptoms associated w/ allergic rhinitis eg, sneezing, nasal discharge & itching, congestion/stuffiness, as well as ocular itching, tearing & redness, itching of palate & coughing; urticaria eg, relief of itching, size & number of hives.
Dosage/Direction for Use
FC tab Adult & adolescent ≥12 yr 1 tab once daily. Syr Relief of symptoms associated w/ allergic rhinitis (including intermittent & persistent allergic rhinitis) & urticaria Adult & adolescent ≥12 yr 10 mL once daily. Childn 6-11 yr 5 mL once daily, 1-5 yr 2.5 mL once daily, 6-11 mth 2 mL once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue use in patients who experience seizure while on treatment. Patients w/ medical or family history of seizures. May cause drowsiness in some patients. Concomitant use w/ macrolides eg, erythromycin or imidazole antifungal eg, ketoconazole. Renal disease patients. Severe renal insufficiency (GFR <30 mL/min). Not to be used during pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation. Childn <6 mth.
Adverse Reactions
FC tab: Fatigue; dry mouth; headache. Syr: Diarrhea, fever, & insomnia.
