Lipascor capsule is not recommended for individuals at risk for or having history of liver disease.
Avoid taking Lipascor capsule if the patient consumes more than 2 drinks of alcohol per day; if the patient has a serious infection; if the patient has undergone organ transplant; if the patient has a serious disease or physical disorder or if they have undergone a recent major surgery.
Consult a physician if the patient is taking any medication or if they are under physician supervision for cholesterol control.
Long-term users of Lipascor capsule are advised to test for serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase (SGPT) and creatine kinase (CK) periodically at medical clinics.
Lipascor may cause mild gastrointestinal upset that can be alleviated if the product is taken after meals. Patients need not cease administration of Lipascor capsule if suffering from minor gastrointestinal upset.
Co-administration of cyclosporin, fibric acid derivatives, niacin (nicotinic acid), erythromycin and azole antifungals should be avoided.
Do not take grapefruit juice with Lipascor.
