Invisible and easy to use, CEREDERM is a self-adhesive silicone dressing for the treatment of scars. The components of the CEREDERM dressing have been selected for their biocompatibility. Special attention has been paid to the fitting of medical grade silicone. Its intrinsic qualities, coupled with the technology developed, guarantee sufficient adherence to the skin and provide pain-free removal of the dressing.
CEREDERM is recommended for the treatment of hypertrophic scars and old and recent cheloids. CEREDERM is for single-patient use. Non-adherence to this rule may cause significant complications and impede correct healing.
Direction for Use: Prior to use, clean and dry the scar carefully.
Remove the dressing from its wrapping. It is possible to cut the bandage to the required size in order to cover up the scar while providing enough overlapping.
Delicately remove the green protective film while taking care not to let the dressing folding on itself.
Position the dressing adhesive side on the scar.
Use CEREDERM alone, without cream. Nevertheless, it is possible to use the dressing with an extra cast (tensor bandage, CERECARE pressure garments).
CEREDERM cannot be used in the following cases: open wound, ulcer, eschar, sweeping, burn.
Under no circumstances, CEREDERM should be put on mucous membranes. In the event of prolonged skin reaction, suspend treatment and consult a doctor.
CERECARE recommends to inspect and clean the scar at least once a day with clear water and neutral soap. It is possible to clean the dressing the same way.
CEREDERM must be worn permanently, except during prolonged contact with water or any other liquid.
It is recommended to renew CEREDERM dressing every 2-3 days or when its adherence properties are insufficient.
The same dressing must not be worn for more than 5 days.
CEREDERM does not offer UV protection.
If the precautions for the use of CEREDERM dressings are not adhered to, it is possible that complications may occur (maceration or reopening of the wound) and correct healing will be compromised.
It is possible that the use of a self-adhesive silicone dressing may cause side effects such as skin reactions (erythema, pruritis, etc.), bleeding, wound maceration or rupture, or pain. Adhering to the precautions for use and avoiding contra-indications makes it possible to limit these side effects. If a side effect occurs, stopping the use of CEREDERM dressings temporarily is recommended. Treatment can be restarted once a normal situation is re-established.
CEREDERM should be stored and transported in its cardboard packaging.
