Indications/Uses

Medical treatment of hyperthyroidism. Long-term therapy may lead to remission of the disease. Thiamazole may be used to ameliorate hyperthyroidism in preparation for subtotal thyroidectomy or radioactive iodine therapy. Thiamazole is also used when thyroidectomy is contraindicated or not advisable.
