Paracetamol 650 mg, orphenadrine citrate 35 mg
Indications/Uses
Paracetamol: Short-term treatment of moderate pain, particularly after surgery, & for fever. Orphenadrine: Relief of pain due to skeletal muscle spasm & treatment of musculoskeletal & joint disorders.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Special Precautions
Not recommended during pregnancy. Lactation. Paracetamol: Patients w/ alcohol dependence; cardiac failure & arrhythmias, coronary insufficiency & tachycardia. Impaired kidney or liver function.
Adverse Reactions
Paracetamol: Haemotological reactions including thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia & agranulocytosis; skin rashes & hypersensitivity reactions. Orphenadrine: Dryness of mouth w/ difficulty in swallowing & talking, thirst, reduced bronchial secretions, dilation of pupils w/ loss of accommodation & photophobia, flushing & dryness of skin, transient bradycardia followed by tachycardia w/ palpitation & arrhythmias, difficulty in micturition, reduction in tone & motility of GI tract leading to constipation.
Drug Interactions
Paracetamol: Risk of toxicity may be increased w/ other potentially hepatotoxic drugs or drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes. Absorption may be accelerated w/ metoclopramide. Excretion may be affected & plasma conc altered w/ probenecid. Reduced absorption w/ colestyramine. Orphenadrine: Concomitant use w/ bupropion.
