Description
Each film-coated tablet contains: Cholecalciferol 1000 IU Equiv. to Vitamin D3 25 mcg.
Indications/Uses
Cholecalciferol (NAT D) is used for the treatment and prevention of hypoparathyroidism, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, psoriasis and scleroderma (hardening of the skin and certain organs). It is also used as prophylaxis and cure for nutritional rickets (Vitamin D deficiency).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Take one (1) tablet daily with meals, or as prescribed by a physician.
Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as the patient remembers it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the dose the patient missed and use the next dose when the patient is meant to. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
Overdosage
When Taken More Than the Recommended Dosage: If the patient (or someone else) accidentally taken more than the recommended dosage, consult a doctor or contact the nearest accident and emergency department.
Contraindications
Individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Persons with hypercalcemia, Vitamin D toxicity and pregnant women.
Special Precautions
Vitamin D3 should be administered with caution in heart diseases patients who are receiving cardiac glycosides and patients with renal impairment or calculi who might be at increased risk of organ damage if hypercalcemia occurred.
When to Consult a Doctor: If the patient is allergic (hypersensitive) to active substances or any of the other ingredients.
If any undesirable effect occurs.
If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using this product.

Adverse Reactions
No consistent and reproducible hypercalcemia or any other adverse effect has occurred at recommended dose of vitamin D3.
Drug Interactions
Cholecalciferol should not be taken with other drugs like cholestyramine, colestipol and mineral oil. These substances decrease the absorption of vitamin D.
Concomitant use with thiazides in patients with hypoparathyroidism may result in hypercalcemia.
Cholecalciferol should be used cautiously in patients taking digoxin or any cardiac glycosides since it may increase arrhythmia.
Caution For Usage
Do not use if there are any significant changes in appearance of the tablets.
Storage
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
