Per sachet NaCl 650 mg, KCl 375 mg, trisodium citrate 725 mg, anhydrous glucose 3.375 g
Indications/Uses
Oral rehydration in acute diarrhoea & cholera.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 250 mL 4 times for 1st 2 hr up to 12 times daily. Childn 2-5 yr 250 mL 3 times for 1st 2 hr up to 6 times daily, <2 yr 250 mL for 1st 2 hr up to tds.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Dissolve contents in 250 mL of cool, boiled water.
Contraindications
Glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.
Special Precautions
Cardiac failure, HTN, peripheral & pulmonary oedema; adrenal insufficiency, acute dehydration or heat cramps; early post-traumatic state or severe sepsis. Concomitant use w/ K-sparing diuretics. Renal impairment. Toxaemia in pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Hypernatraemia; oedema; nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal cramps; hyperkalaemia.
