Why do I need this medicine?
Betamethasone is used to help relieve inflammation of the ear that is not infected.
How do I use this medicine?
Instil Betamethasone ear drop solution in the affected ear(s) exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

To use this medicine, follow these steps:
  1. Wash your hands with soap and water.
  2. Tilt your head or lie down on your side.
  3. Gently pull your upper ear up and back. Insert the nozzle into the affected ear and instil the required number of drops.
  4. Keep your head tilted or remain lying down for 2 minutes.
  5. Repeat steps to instil your dose into the other ear if necessary.
  6. Replace and tighten the cap of the bottle.
  7. Wash your hands after use.
Do not allow the tip of the dropper to touch any other surfaces, including your fingers.

Do not share your ear drops with anyone else.

The dose of this medicine will be decided by your doctor. Your doctor will advise you on the treatment timeframe depending on the severity of your condition and your response to the medication.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Instil the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you often forget to instil your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have a hole or tear in the eardrum as Betamethasone may not be suitable for you.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Keep your appointments with your doctor. Your doctor needs to monitor your condition and check your response to the medication regularly.
What side effects could I experience?
Betamethasone may cause certain reactions such as irritation, tingling or stinging sensation, and itching. These reactions may not appear until some time after you have started using the ear drops.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements, and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
How should I store this medicine?
Store below 25°C, away from the reach of children.

Do not freeze. Protect from light.

Throw away any remaining solution 28 days after opening. Mark the date of opening on the bottle so that you know when to discard it.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
