Betamethasone valerate
Indications/Uses
Relief of inflammatory manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult
Apply thin film to affected area once-tds.
Childn
Apply thin film to affected area once daily.
Contraindications
Infection at treatment site, skin atrophy, preexisting acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, primary cutaneous viral infection (eg, herpes simplex, chickenpox), skin TB, vaccinia, varicella, rosacea. Infant <1 yr.
Special Precautions
Avoid long-term topical therapy in childn.
Adverse Reactions
Skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria w/ occlusive dressing.
