Why do I need this medicine?
Betamethasone is used to help relieve inflammation of the nose that is not infected.
How do I use this medicine?
Use Betamethasone exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

To use this medicine, follow these steps:
  1. Blow your nose gently to clean your nostrils before using the drops.
  2. Wash your hands with soap and water.
  3. Tilt your head back and close one nostril with your finger. Hold the dropper straight and upright, placing the dropper tip into the other nostril.
  4. Instil the required number of drops into the nostril. Keep your head tilted for a few minutes to allow the medicine to spread into the nose.
  5. Repeat steps to instil your dose into the other nostril if necessary.
  6. After each use, wipe the dropper tip and replace the cap of the nasal drops.
Do not allow the tip of the dropper to touch any other surfaces, including your fingers.

Do not share your nasal drops with others as it could spread infection.

The dose of this medicine will be decided by your doctor. Your doctor will advise you on the treatment timeframe depending on the severity of your condition and your response to the medication.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
  • nose infection that has not been treated
  • recent nose surgery which has not yet healed
  • TB (lung infection known as tuberculosis)
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Keep your appointments with your doctor. Your doctor needs to monitor your condition and check your response to the medication regularly.
What side effects could I experience?
Betamethasone may cause any of the following side effects: nose irritation and dryness, headache, sneezing, nausea, disturbance to the sense of taste or smell, stuffy nose, and nosebleeds.

This medicine may also cause certain reactions such as tingling or stinging sensation and itching. These reactions may not appear until some time after you have started using the nasal drops.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicine, supplements, and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
How should I store this medicine?
Store below 25°C, away from the reach of children.

Do not freeze. Protect from light.

Throw away any remaining solution 28 days after opening. Mark the date of opening on the bottle so that you know when to discard it.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
