Treatment should include daily hydrotherapy & debridement in patients w/ 3rd-degree burns. Significant quantities can be absorbed after long-term treatment. Ingest abundant bicarbonated liqd in case of massive sulfadiazine absorption. Urethral catheterization might be necessary in case of serious crystalluria. Contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions (eg, contact dermatitis). Contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation. Caution in patients w/ significant hepatic or renal impairment; hypersensitivity to systemic sulphonamides; G6PD deficiency. Do not use in pregnant or nursing women.
