Testosterone undecanoate.
TESTOS is male sex hormone for oral administration. The active ingredient is Testosterone undecanoate, ester of fatty acid of natural androgen "Testosterone".
Each capsule contains Testosterone undecanoate 40 mg.
Testosterone replacement therapy in male hypogonadal disorder caused by the following cases such as: Orchidectomy; Testicular disorder; Hypopituitarism; Certain kind of infertility caused by abnormal spermatogenesis.
In addition, testosterone is used in osteoporosis caused by inadequate androgen hormone.
Dosage should be determined by each patient's response.
Initially: 3-4 capsules daily for 2-3 weeks.
Maintenance: 1-3 capsules daily.
Administration: TESTOS is taken after meals, swallowed with a little water. 2 divided equal dosages should be prescribed for morning and evening. If this is impossible, prescribe a large dosage in the morning.
Known or suspected prostatic or mammary carcinoma.
With adverse reactions caused by androgen, pause administration. After the disappearance of the reactions, prescribe a small dosage.
Patients with cardiovascular disorders, renal and hepatic impairment, epilepsy, migraine and diabetes mellitus should be examined regularly as androgen may cause fluid and electrolyte retention.
Precaution should be taken when administering androgen to prepubertal boys in order to avoid premature epiphyseal closure or precocious sexual development.
Fluid and electrolyte retention.
Priapism and signs of excessive sexual stimulation.
Oligospermia, decreased ejaculatory volume.
In prepubertal boys: Precocious sexual development, abnormal increased frequency of erections, phallic enlargement, premature epiphyseal closure.
