Pregnancy: Pregnancy Category C: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies with pregabalin in pregnant women. In animal reproduction studies, increased incidence of fetal structural abnormalities and other manifestation of developmental toxicity (skeletal malformation, retarded ossification, and decreased fetal body weight) were observed in the offspring of rats and rabbits given pregabalin orally.
Use pregabalin during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Lactation: It is not known if pregabalin is excreted in human milk; however, due to its potential risk of tumorigenicity, breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with pregabalin.
