Paracetamol
Indications/Uses
Pain including headache, toothache, back & period pain, & cold or flu symptoms.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult, elderly & childn >16 yr 2 tab every 4 hr as required. Max: 8 tab in 24 hr. Childn 10-15 yr 1 tab every 4-6 hr when necessary to a max of 4 doses in 24 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow w/ a glass of liqd.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Not to be taken for >3 days w/o medical consultation; & w/ any other paracetamol-containing products. Caution if administered concomitantly w/ flucloxacillin. Severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in childn <10 yr.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ flucloxacillin; warfarin; metoclopramide or domperidone; colestyramine; alcohol.
