Signs and Symptoms: Bisacodyl overdosage may cause diarrhea with excessive loss of water and electrolytes, particularly potassium. There is also the possibility of developing an atonic (lacking normal tone or strength) non-functioning colon.
What to do when the patient has taken more than the recommended dosage: There is no specific treatment for bisacodyl overdosage. However, if the patient has taken more than the recommended dosage, consult a doctor.
