Montelukast Na
Indications/Uses
Treatment of bronchial asthma & allergic rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >15 yr 10 mg tab. Childn 6-14 yr 5 mg tab, 2-5 yr 4 mg tab. All doses are taken once daily at bedtime.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ hepatic impairment or cirrhosis.
Special Precautions
Montelukast & other leukotriene antagonists should not be taken for the treatment of acute asthma attack. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, increased incidence of resp tract infection (in the elderly) & GI disturbances. Generalized pain, arthralgia & myalgia, fever & dizziness, hypersensitivity reactions eg, urticaria & angioedema.
