Gabix is a new antiepileptic drug that is structurally similar to the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and the endogenous amino acid L-leucine. Chemically, gabapentin is 1-(aminomethyl)-cyclohexaneacetic acid. Its molecular formula is C9H17NO2.
