Tuberculosis: Streptomycin is used in combination with para-aminosalicylic and/or isoniazid or other chemotherapeutic agent(s), adjunctive to bed rest, appropriate surgery, and other necessary measures. The drug is used prophylactically in thoracic, genitourinary and orthopedic surgical procedures. Primary and minimal pulmonary tuberculosis are being subject to combined chemotherapy with increasing frequency.
Tuberculosis (other than miliary and meningeal); Miliary tuberculosis and when elected, meningeal tuberculosis; Surgical intervention in tuberculous patients.
Non-Tuberculous Infections: Gonorrhea; Subacute bacterial endocarditis; Brucellosis with bacteremia; Urinary tract infections; Peritonitis.
