1 ml contains 0.01 g tyloxapol, 0.05 g glycerine and sodium bicarbonate in an aqueous solution.
Tacholiquin 1% solution is a sterile, clear, colourless, tasteless and odorless solution for inhalation.
Tacholiquin 1% solution is used for the accompanying treatment of various diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract, which are associated with a viscous ejection.
Tacholiquin 1% solution reduces the surface tension on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract using a physical mechanism, which loosens tough masses of mucus and secretions and facilitates their removal.
Tacholiquin 1% solution contains tyloxapol, which is a non-ionic wetting agent. Tyloxapol has a secretolytic (expectorant) effect and lowers the surface tension. As a result, after application of Tacholiquin 1% solution, mucus and secretions on the mucous membranes are liquefied and better dissolvable, even though it does not affect the physiological conditions. Tacholiquin 1% solution also contains 5% glycerine to stabilize the droplet spectrum of the inhalation solution.
To encourage infectious ejection of sputum and reduce airway obstruction from excessive mucus plugging/conglomerates.
For the accompanying treatment of various types of acute and chronic irritation or inflammation of the respiratory tract, which are associated with viscous sputum formation.
Under medical advice: to prevent and eliminate the secretion stagnation in the event of mechanical respiratory impairment after operations and after tracheal incision (tracheotomy).
Tacholiquin 1% solution is a solution for inhalation.
For inhalation, nebulization by using an aerosol device is required - commercially available inhalation devices meet these requirements, in particular oscillating membrane, compressed air or ultrasonic devices. Steam or bronchitis boilers with hot water are not applicable.
Open the vial by rotating the cap.
Fill the solution into the container of the inhalation device.
For one application, a maximum of 5 ml of Tacholiquin 1% solution (equivalent to one Monodose) should be used.
To clean the inhalation device used, refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
The fog does not cause stains on the laundry.
Children age of 3 months old to 3 years old: Short inhalation: Several times a day, usually 3 times, each time a maximum of 5 ml of Tacholiquin 0.1% solution. Do not inhale more than 25 ml in total per day.
The inhalation time is about 5 to 15 minutes depending on the inhalation device.
The duration of the treatment is usually up to three weeks, it depends on the individual symptoms, therapy progress and will be determined by the doctor.
*Tacholiquin solution 1% needs to be diluted (refer to dilution procedure as follows).
Children age of 3 years old to adult: Short inhalation: Several times a day, usually 3 times, each time a maximum of 5 ml of Tacholiquin 1% solution. Do not inhale more than 25 ml in total per day.
The inhalation time is about 5 to 15 minutes depending on the inhalation device.
The duration of the treatment is usually up to three weeks, it depends on the individual symptoms, therapy progress and will be determined by the doctor.
Continuous inhalation: In severe cases and threatening conditions of respiratory insufficiency, continuous inhalation treatment with Tacholiquin 1% solution can be recommended by using suitable inhalation devices.
The duration of continuous inhalation is limited to 1 hour.
A maximum of 25 ml of Tacholiquin 1% solution per day should be inhaled.
Attention: The continuous inhalation should only be carried out after consulting a doctor.
How to dilute Tacholiquin 0.1: This is only for the administration of Tacholiquin to 3 months old to 3 years old. The whole content (5ml) of Tacholiquin 1% should be diluted with 45ml normal saline 0.9% (NS) solution. Swirl gently to ensure homogenous mixing.
If hypersensitivity to a component of the preparation is known.
With pulmonary edema, as well as fluid accumulation in the lungs.
In children under the age of 3 years. Use Tacholiquin 0.1% instead.
Do not use the vial if the cap is damaged, because sterility of the solution may be compromised.
Special care should be taken when using Tacholiquin 1 % solution if the removal of mucus from the respiratory tract is severely disturbed and as a result a secretion congestion occurs (e.g. cilioid dysfunction, malignant cilia syndrome).
To avoid hyperventilation (excessively fast and deep breathing), increased respiratory activity should be avoided, especially when using closed face masks.
Tacholiquin 1% solution may not be injected! Not for reuse! Tacholiquin 1 % solution Monodose is germ-free and airtight filled. Consume vials immediately after opening.
If the symptoms do not improve or worsen, the patient should seek medical advice.
There are no experience with using Tacholiquin 1% solution during pregnancy and when breast feeding.
Occasionally, the first deep breaths may be followed by an initial cough stimulus or shortness of breath. However, these symptoms disappear spontaneously after wetting the mucous membrane. Hypersensitivity reactions are very rare but can appear in sensitive individuals and lead to shortness of breath because of bronchospasm (cramping of the muscles that span the airways), cough, headache and nausea. Undesirable interactions with other medical devices and drugs are not known. In the literature there are no reports about incidences.
Store between 2°C and 25 °C.
Keep protected from light.
R05CA01 - tyloxapol ; Belongs to the class of expectorants. Used in the treatment of wet cough.
