Dosage/Direction for Use

IV infusion Initially 100 mg, followed by 50 mg every 12 hr over approx 30-60 min for 5-14 days.

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Hypersensitivity to tetracycline. Monotherapy in patients w/ complicated intra-abdominal infections secondary to clinically apparent intestinal perforation. Pseudomembranous colitis in patients w/ diarrhea. Carefully monitor patient during therapy to prevent superinfections. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Monitor patient w/ severe hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <18 yr.

Adverse Reactions

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, pruritus, rash, headache, dizziness, phlebitis, thrombophlebitis. Prolonged prothrombin time, bilirubinemia, increased BUN.
