Activated attapulgite 600 mg, pectin 50 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of unknown cause diarrhea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr Initially 2 tab, followed by 2 more tab each after defecation. Max: 12 tab/day. Childn 6-12 yr Initially 1 tab, then 1 more tab after each bowel movement. Max: 6 tab/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Not to be given to patients where constipation should be avoided.
Special Precautions
Not to be used for >2 day or in cases of high fever. Diarrhea may cause loss of fluids & electrolytes; rehydration therapy (oral rehydration fluid) may be needed. Pregnancy & lactation. Not to be used for infants or childn <6 yr.
Drug Interactions
May affect absorption of other drugs in the digestive tract.
