Adult 1 or 2 tab/day. Max daily dose: 1,600 mg.

Administration

Should be taken on an empty stomach: Swallow whole. Do not chew.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ genetic defects affecting methionine cycle &/or causing homocystinuria &/or hyperhomocysteinemia (eg, cystathionine β-synthase deficiency, vit B₁₂ metabolism defect).

Special Precautions

May cause anxiety, restlessness & insomnia. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Caution in patients taking prescription psychiatric medications. Should not be used by patients w/ bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness) & pregnant or lactating women unless under medical supervision. Not recommended for use in childn.
