Adult Recommended dose: 250-750 mg bid every 12 hr. Max daily dose: 1.5 g.
250 mg Cystitis ½ - 1 tab bid.
Infections of resp tract, urinary tract, kidney & GIT (including typhoid fever) ½ tab bid.
Other infections 2 tab bid.
Severe infections May be increased to 3 tab bid.
Acute gonorrhea including uncomplicated acute cystitis 1 tab once daily. Duration of treatment: Usually given for 5-10 days depending on the severity of the disease. Continue for at least 3 days after fever subsides or symptoms disappear.
Patient w/ CrCl <20 mL/min Normal dosage once daily. Reduce to ½ dosage if bid.
500 mg UTI 250-500 mg bid every 12 hr for 7-14 days.
Gonorrhea caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae 250-500 mg once daily.
Digestive tract infectious disease 500 mg bid every 12 hr for 5-7 days.
Typhoid fever 500 mg bid every 12 hr for 10 consecutive days.
Lower resp tract, skin & soft tissue, bone & joint infection 500-750 mg bid every 12 hr for 7-14 days.
Bone infection May take up to 4-6 wk.
