Adult ≥15 yrAsthma 10 mg once daily taken in the evening. Allergic rhinitis 10 mg once daily. Time of administration may be individualized to suit patient needs. Asthma & allergic rhinitis 10 mg once daily taken in the evening.
Avoid concomitant use w/ aspirin or NSAIDs in patients w/ known aspirin hypersensitivity. Do not use to treat acute asthma attacks & as monotherapy for the treatment & management of exercise-induced bronchospasm. Not to be abruptly substituted for inhaled or oral corticosteroids. Possible neuropsychiatric events in patients w/ & w/o history of psychiatric disorder; advise patients &/or caregivers to be alert for behavioural changes or new neuropsychiatric symptoms when taking montelukast. Possible Churg-Strauss syndrome. Pregnancy & lactation.
