Discoloured faeces are a well-known adverse drug reaction of oral iron medications but this is considered of no clinical relevance and is underreported. Other commonly seen side effects were gastrointestional disorders (Nausea, Constipation, Diarrhoea and abdominal pain). (See Table 3.)
