FC tabAdult & adolescent >12 yr 10 mg once daily. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tab or 5 mg bid. Oral drops Adult & adolescent >12 yr 1 mL (20 drops) once daily. Childn 6-12 yr 0.5 mL (10 drops) bid, 2-6 yr 0.25 mL (5 drops) bid. Oral soln Adult & adolescent >12 yr 10 mL once daily. Childn 6-12 yr 5 mL bid, 2-6 yr 2.5 mL bid.

Administration
May be taken with or without food: FC tab: Swallow whole w/ a glass of water. May divide tab into 2 equal doses. Oral drops: Dilute drops in water; swallow immediately.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or any piperazine derivatives. Severe impairment of kidney function w/ CrCl <10 mL/min. Concomitant use w/ other anti-allergic medicines.
Risk of severe allergic reactions; urinary retention; worsening of existing conditions; suicidal thoughts. Patients w/ conditions predisposing to urinary retention (eg, spinal cord injury, enlarged prostate); epilepsy or risk of convulsions; renal impairment. May affect allergy test results. Avoid alcohol; may cause additional reduction in alertness & impairment of performance in some patients. Avoid in pregnant women. Lactation. FC tab: Contains lactose; patients w/ rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance should not take this medicine. Not recommended in childn <6 yr. Oral drops/oral soln: Not recommended in infants & childn <2 yr.
Somnolence, dizziness, headache, pharyngitis, rhinitis in childn, diarrhoea in childn, nausea, dry mouth, fatigue.
Drug Interactions
Concurrent administration w/ other histamines (eg, hydroxizine, clemastine), medicine for anxiety (eg, diazepam), sleeping pills (eg, zolpidem), or alcohol may cause additional reductions in alertness & impairment of performance.
