Diosmin, hesperidin.
Description
A brown coloured caplet shaped biconvex filmcoated tablets with breakline on one side and plain on other side.
Each film-coated tablet contains: Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction of rutaceae 500 mg (Diosmin 450 mg, Hesperidin 50 mg), Excipients q.s.
Colour: Titanium Dioxide BP, Ferric oxide red & Ferric oxide yellow.
Action
Vasoprotective.
It is active upon the return vascular system in the following way: It reduces venous distensibility and stasis.
In the microcirculation, it normalises capillary permeability and increases capillary resistance.
Indications/Uses
Diosmin + Hesperidin 450 mg/50 mg Film-Coated Tablet is used for the treatment of organic and functional chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs with the following symptoms: Swollen legs, pain and nocturnal cramps.
Treatment of chronic hemorrhoidal and acute hemorrhoidal disease and attacks.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Chronic venous insufficiency: Usual dosage: 2 tablets daily in two divided doses, midday and evening at meal times.
Acute hemorrhoidal attack: 6 tablets per day (in 3 divided doses) for 3-4 days, then 4 tablets per day for 3 days.
What should the patient do if they miss a dose: Take one tablet after the next loose stool (bowel movement).
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
If the patient has any further questions on the use of this product, ask a doctor or pharmacist.
Overdosage
No cases of overdose have been reported.
What to do when the patient has taken more than the recommended dosage: Ask the doctor or pharmacist.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Special Precautions
Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before using Diosmin + Hesperidin 450 mg/50 mg Film-Coated Tablet.
Acute Hemorrhoidal Attack: The administration of this product for the symptomatic treatment of acute haemorrhoids does not preclude treatment for other anal conditions.
If symptoms do not subside promptly, a proctological examination should be performed and the treatment should be reviewed.
Driving and using machines: No specific studies on the effects of flavonoid fraction on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed. However, on the basis of the overall safety profile of flavonoid fraction, Diosmin + Hesperdin 450 mg/50 mg Tablet has nor or negligible influence on these abilities.

Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: No harmful effects have been reported to date in humans.
Breast-feeding: In the absence of data on excretion in milk, treatment should be avoided during breastfeeding.
Adverse Reactions
The following adverse effects or events have been reported and are ranked using the following frequency: Very common (≥1/10); common (≥1/100 to <1/10); uncommon (≥1/1,000 to <1/100); rare (≥1/10,000 to <1/1,000); very rare (<1/10,000), not known (cannot be estimated from the available data).
Nervous system disorders: Rare effects: Dizziness, headache, malaise.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Common effects: Diarrhoea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting.
Uncommon effects: Colitis.
Not known: Abdominal pain.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Rare effects: Rash, pruritus, urticaria.
Not known: Isolated face, lip, eyelid oedema.
Exceptionally Quincke's oedema.
Storage
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
