Sinupret/Sinupret Forte

Sinupret: Sinupret are green, round, biconvex tablets with a smooth surface.
Each dragée contains: Gentianae radix (Gentian root) 6 mg, Primulae flos (Primrose flowers with calyx) 18 mg, Rumicis herba (Common sorrel herb) 18 mg, Sambuci flos (Elder flowers) 18 mg, Verbenae herba (Shop vervain wort) 18 mg.
Sinupret Forte: Sinupret Forte are green, round, biconvex tablets with a smooth surface.
Each dragée contains: Sambucus nigra L. (Elder flower) 36 mg, Primula veris L. and Primula elatior (L.) Hill (Primula flower with calyx) 36 mg, Rumex crispus L. (Common sorrel herb) 36 mg, Verbena officinalis L. (Verbena herb) 36 mg, Gentiana lutea L. (Gentian root) 12 mg.

Sinupret Forte: Other cold preparations.

This medicine is used for the acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and of the respiratory tract, also as supplementary measure in antibacterial therapy.

Always take Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées as described in this monograph. Check with the doctor or pharmacist if the patient is not sure.
Sinupret: Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, the recommended dose is: Adults and adolescents from the age of 12 years: 2 dragées 3 times per day.
Children from the age of 6 to 11 years: 1 dragée 3 times per day.
Sinupret Forte: Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, the daily dose in adults and adolescents from the age of 12 years is 1 dragée 3 times a day.
Method of administration: Take Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées unchewed with some liquid (e.g. a glass of water). If the patient has a sensitive stomach, the patient should best take Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées after meals.
Duration of administration: Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées should not be taken for longer than 7-14 days. If the patient experiences no improvement by then, consult a physician.
If the patient forgets to take Sinupret/Sinupret Forte: If the patient has taken too few Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées or has forgotten to take Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées, do not take a double dose the next time, but rather continue taking them as prescribed by the doctor or as described in this monograph.
If the patient stops taking Sinupret/Sinupret Forte: Discontinuing Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées is usually harmless.
If the patient has any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask the doctor or pharmacist.

If the patient takes more Sinupret/Sinupret Forte than they should: If the patient has taken a larger quantity of Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées than they should have, the undesirable effects listed as follows may be more intense. In case of overdose, symptomatic treatment should be initiated.

Do not take Sinupret/Sinupret Forte: If the patient is hypersensitive to the active substances or to any of the excipients of the medicinal product.

This medicinal product contains glucose, lactose, sucrose and sorbitol. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose and galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées.
Sinupret: If symptoms last longer than 7-14 days or recur periodically, consult a physician.
Sinupret Forte: If the patient experiences nosebleed, persistent fever, severe pain, purulent nasal discharge or unclear complaints and/or if the symptoms persist for more than 7-14 days, worsen or recur periodically, the patient is advised to consult a doctor.
In case of patients with a sensitive stomach or with known gastric disorders particular caution is required when taking this medicine. Sinupret Forte should be taken preferably after meals and with a glass of water.
Effects on ability to drive and use machines: No special precautions are necessary.
Use in Children: Sinupret: The use in children under 6 years of age is not recommended because of lack of sufficient data.
Sinupret Forte: The use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended because of lack of sufficient data.

Ask the doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Like all medicinal products, Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées should only be used during pregnancy and lactation after strict risk-benefit evaluation by the attending physician.

Like all medicines, Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Gastrointestinal disorders (e.g. stomachache, nausea) are uncommon. Hypersensitivity reactions of the skin (e.g. exanthema, erythema, pruritus) are rare. Furthermore, allergic reactions such as angioedema, dyspnoea, face oedema have been reported. In these cases, stop intake of Sinupret/Sinupret Forte dragées and consult a physician.

Interactions with other medicinal products or food are not known up to now.

Dragées must be protected from moisture.
Sinupret: Store at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.
Sinupret Forte: Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
