Apply & rub gently in affected skin areas once (for childn) or bid (for adult). Continue treatment for 1 wk after clearing of atopic dermatitis signs & symptoms.
Minimize skin exposure to sunlight & avoid use of UV light from a solarium, therapy w/ UVB or UVA in combination w/ psoralens. Do not apply emollients to the same area w/in 2 hr of applying tacrolimus oint. Not evaluated for the treatment of clinically infected atopic dermatitis. Increased risk of herpes viral infections. Potential local immunosuppression (possibly resulting in infections or cutaneous malignancies) in >4 yr of treatment. Avoid contact w/ eyes & mucous membranes. Avoid use of occlusive dressings. Patients w/ generalized erythroderma. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <2 yr.
