Adverse Reactions

Allergic and toxic reactions such as contact dermatitis and irritation are rarely reported with the use of topical tolnaftate.
Burning sensation and maceration at the area of the lesion are also occasionally reported with the use of tolnaftate which are said to be caused by endotoxins of fungi that were eradicated.
