Ascorbic acid

Indications/Uses

Prevention or treatment of vit C deficiency; to increase body resistance against stress, colds & other infections.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Tab 100 mg-1 g daily. Syr Adult & childn >12 yr 5-10 mL once daily. Childn 7-12 yr 5 mL once daily; 2-6 yr 2.5 mL once daily.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Special Precautions

Hyperoxaluria. Contains tartrazine causing allergic reactions (including bronchial asthma).

Adverse Reactions

Diarrhea & other GI disturbances (large doses), renal Ca oxalate calculi formation.
