Description
Each tablet contains: Colchicine tablet 500 mcg.
Indications/Uses
Colchichine is indicated for the treatment of gout. It is effective in relieving the pain of acute attacks, especially if therapy is begun early in the attack and in adequate dosage.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 mg initially, followed by 500 micrograms every 2-3 hours until relief of pain is obtained or vomiting or diarrhea occurs, or until a total dose of 10 mg has been reached. The course should not be repeated within 3 days.
Prevention of attacks during initial treatment with allopurinol or uricosuric drugs, 500 micrograms 2-3 times daily.

Contraindications
Elderly and debilitated patients, cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal disease, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Warnings
If gastrointestinal disturbances occur discontinue medication.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Adverse Reactions
Most common are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain. Large doses may also cause profuse diarrhea, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, rashes and renal damage, rarely peripheral neuritis, alopecia and with prolonged treatment of blood dyscrasias.
