Reconstitution: Add 22.5 mL of water. Adult & childn >10 yr 200-400 mg daily in 2 divided doses, weighing ≤30 kg 200-400 mg. Childn 11-12 yr 15 mL or 300 mg, 5-10 yr 10 mL or 200 mg daily, 1-4 yr 5 mL or 100 mg, 6 mth-1 yr 3.75 mL or 75 mg daily.
Hypersensitivity to cefixime, other cephalosporin antibiotics or penicillins. History of shocks. Personal or familial history of some form of allergy eg, bronchial asthma, rash & urticaria; serious renal function disorder; poor oral nutrition, therapy w/ parenteral nutrition. Elderly patients or those in a debilitated state. Careful observation as vit K deficiency symptoms may develop.
Perform careful inquiry about any form of hypersensitivity prior to treatment. Sensitivity testing is recommended prior to antibiotic administration. Pregnancy. Safety has not been established in newborns & prematures.
