Adverse Reactions
Drug Interactions
May increase serum Ca level w/ Ca-containing products (eg, acetolyte). Reduce dose of Al hydroxide, as appropriate, due to improved uremic symptoms during therapy. Observe at least 2 hr interval between administration of Renalog/Renalog DS & drugs which form poorly soluble compd w/ Ca [eg, tetracyclines, quinolones (eg, ciprofloxacin & norfloxacin), prep containing Fe, fluoride & estramustine]. In case of hypercalcaemia, increased sensitivity to drugs which increase heart action (eg, cardiac glycosides).
