Pregabalin: Discontinue immediately if symptoms of angioedema occur. Adjust hypoglycemic medications in diabetic patients who gain wt on pregabalin treatment. Associated w/ dizziness & somnolence which could increase occurrence of accidental injury (fall) in elderly. Post-marketing reports of loss of consciousness, confusion, mental impairment; cases of misuse & abuse; CHF. Risk of w/drawal symptoms after discontinuation of short- & long-term treatment. Carefully evaluate patients for history of drug abuse & observe for signs of misuse or abuse (eg, development of tolerance, dose escalation, drug-seeking behavior). Should not be taken by patients w/ galactose intolerance, Lapp-lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Women of childbearing potential must use effective contraception. Not to be used during pregnancy unless the benefit to the mother clearly outweighs potential risk to the fetus. Breast-feeding is not recommended during treatment. Mecobalamin: Not to be given in patients w/ suspected vit B
12 deficiency w/o 1st confirming diagnosis. Monitor blood regularly. Dose >10 mcg daily may produce haematological response in patients w/ folate deficiency. Leber's disease or tobacco amblyopia.
