Description
Pecof tablet: White, round, flat beveled edged uncoated tablets having break line on one side.
Each uncoated tablet contains: Salbutamol (as sulfate), BP 2 mg, Bromhexine Hydrochloride 8 mg, Guaifenesin 100 mg.
Salbutamol + Bromhexine HCl + Guaifenesin (PECOF) Tablets give prompt and dependable relief in various Broncho-Pulmonary Disorders.
Pecof syrup: Each 10 mL contains: Salbutamol (as sulfate) 2 mg, Bromhexine Hydrochloride 4 mg, Guaifenesin 100 mg.
Pecof SF syrup: Each 10 mL contains: Salbutamol Sulphate BP equivalent to Salbutamol 2 mg, Bromhexine Hydrochloride 4 mg, Guaifenesin 100 mg.

Pharmacology: Pecof tablet: The rational combination offers effective and fast relief in various Broncho-Pulmonary Disorders.
Salbutamol is a selective beta2 adrenergic receptor agonist giving efficient bronchodilation with longer duration of action compared to other bronchodilators.
Bromhexine Hydrochloride decreased the viscosity of sputum and increases mucociliary clearance.
Guaifenesin helps loosen and clear the bronchial passages of thickened mucus and aids expectoration.

Indications/Uses
Pecof tablet: Useful in the following disorders: Bronchial asthma, emphysema, acute and chronic bronchitis, and other bronchospastic conditions associated with mucus secretions.
Pecof syrup/Pecof SF syrup: Salbutamol + Bromhexine + Guaifenesin (Pecof/Pecof SF) will be useful in the following disorders: Bronchial Asthma; Emphysema; Atelectasis; Acute and Chronic Bronchitis; Bronchiectasis; Pulmonary Tuberculosis; Whooping Cough; Pneumonia; Other Broncho-Spastic Conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Pecof tablet: Adults: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
Children: 6-12 years: ½ to 1 tablet 3 times daily.
Below 6 years: ½ tablet 3 times daily.
Or as directed by the physician.
The previously mentioned doses may have to be raised in some patients to get the desired effect.
Pecof syrup: Adults: 10 mL (2 teaspoonful) 3 times daily.
Children: 6-12 years: 5 mL to 10 mL (1-2 teaspoonful) 3 times daily.
Below 6 years: 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) 3 times daily.
The previously mentioned doses may have to be raised in some patients to get the desired effect.
Pecof SF syrup: Adults: 10 mL (2 teaspoons) 3 times daily.
Children: 6-12 years: 5 mL to 10 mL (1-2 teaspoons) 3 times daily.
Below 6 years: 2.5 mL (½ teaspoon) 3 times daily.
The previously mentioned doses may have to be raised in some patients to get the desired effect.
Special Precautions
Should be used with caution in patients of hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, serious cardiovascular disorders, hypertension and peptic ulcers.
Adverse Reactions
These are generally mild and rare. Skeletal muscle tremor particularly of the hands, palpitations and muscle cramps are seen occasionally. Slight tachycardia, headache and peripheral vasodilation have been reported after large doses.
Storage
Pecof tablet: Store at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.
Protect from moisture and light.
Pecof syrup: Store at temperatures not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light.
Shake well before use.
Pecof SF syrup: Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light. Shake well.
