Adults and Children 1 year and older: For patients with folate-deficient megaloblastic anemia, take 1 tablet per day for 4 months, unless prescribed by doctor.
For prophylaxis of neural tube defects in pregnancy, take 1 tablet per day for 4 weeks before pregnancy and continued through the first trimester.
Missed dose: Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. If the patient forgets to take a dose, take it as soon as the patient remembers it and then take the next dose at the right time. If the patient has any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask a doctor or pharmacist. Do not take a double dose. Then go on as before.
What to do if the patient has taken more than the recommended dosage: If the patient takes more folate tablets than the patient should, seek immediate medical advise even if the patient feel well.
