Contraindications

Patients with known hypersensitivity to rifaximin, to similar types of antibiotics (such as rifampicin or rifabutin), Rifaximin must not be used in the case of infectious diarrhea or traveler's diarrhea complicated with fever and/or presence of blood in stools. It is not recommended for children below 12 years old, pregnant women or nursing mothers.
