Pregnancy: There are no or limited amount of data from the use of meropenem in pregnant women. As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid using meropenem during pregnancy.
Lactation: It is unknown whether meropenem is excreted in human milk. Meropenem is detectable at very low concentrations in animal breast milk. A decision must be made whether to discontinue breast-feeding or to discontinue/abstain from meropenem therapy taking into account the benefit of therapy for the woman.
