Anorexia of somatic or psychogenic origin in underwt patients, in whom prevention of vit B deficiency secondary to impaired dietary intake or absorption (eg, as a consequence of antibiotics or other drug therapy interfering w/ absorption or utilization of B group vit) is indicated.
CapAdult 1 cap daily, increased to 1 cap tid. SyrAdult Initially 10 mL daily, increased up to 10 mL tid. Childn Small initial dose should be gradually increased to an ave maintenance dose of 0.025 mg/kg daily, 2-6 yr 10-20 mL daily in 2 or 3 divided doses.
Patients w/ narrow-angle glaucoma (except those successfully treated by surgery) or urinary retention (eg, prostatic enlargement). May slow reactions when driving vehicles & operating machinery. Should be administered in pregnancy only under compelling circumstances. Not recommended in nursing mothers.
