Montelukast 10 mg, levocetirizine diHCl 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Chronic allergic conditions eg, seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, rhinitis associated w/ asthma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to montelukast Na, levocetirizine or cetirizine. Patients w/ severe renal impairment at CrCl <10 mL/min, rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Special Precautions
Not indicated for reversal of bronchospasm in acute asthma attack, including status asthmaticus. Do not use as monotherapy for the treatment & management of exercise-induced bronchospasm. Avoid concomitant w/ aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents in patients w/ known aspirin sensitivity. Systemic eosinophilia. Caution in intake of alcohol; rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients w/ impaired renal function, impaired hepatic function. Ped patients <15 yr. Elderly ≥65 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Dyspepsia, abdominal pain, rash, dizziness, headache, fatigue, fever, trauma, cough, nasal congestion, flu. Somnolence, fatigue, nasopharyngitis, dry mouth & pharyngitis.
Drug Interactions
Decreased clearance w/ theophylline (by 400-mg dose). Increased plasma AUC & decreased clearance w/ ritonavir.
