Memantine is used in treatment of patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. It is a voltage-dependent, moderate-affinity uncompetitive NMDA-receptor antagonist. It modulates the effects of pathologically elevated tonic levels of glutamate that may lead to neuronal dysfunction. Memantine is chemically described as 1-amino-3,5-dimethyladamantane hydrochloride. Its empirical formula is C12H21N.HCl. It is white to off white powder with a molecular weight of 215.76.
Formulation: Each film coated tablet contains: Mentra 10 - Memantine Hydrochloride 10 mg.
