Meningococcal group A, C, W-135 & Y conjugate vaccine
Indications/Uses
Protection against infections caused by Neisseria meningitidis types A, C, W & Y in adults, adolescents & childn from 1 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM 0.5 mL inj in the upper arm or thigh.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Infection w/ high temp (>38°C). Bleeding or bruising. Fainting. Weak immune system (eg, due to HIV infection, other diseases or use of medicine that affect the immune system). May affect ability to drive or use machines. Pregnancy, lactation or planning to get pregnant.
Adverse Reactions
Itchy skin rash, shortness of breath swelling, of the face or tongue. Fever, redness or swelling in inj site. Childn ≥2yr, adolescent & adult: Muscle pain, headache, feeling unwell. Childn 12-23 mth: Tenderness, irritability, crying, loss of appetite, drowsiness; fever. Vomiting, diarrhoea.
Drug Interactions
Other vaccines or medicines, including medicines obtained w/o prescription; medicine that affect the immune system eg, corticosteroids (high-dose), chemotherapy.
