A number of undesirable effects have been reported in women using combined oral contraceptives, which are discussed in more detail in Precautions. These include: venous thromboembolic disorders; arterial thromboembolic disorders; hypertension; hormone-dependent tumours (e.g. liver tumours, breast cancer); exacerbations of hereditary and acquired angioedema; chloasma.
