Indications/Uses

Susceptible infections eg, bone & joint, & skin & soft tissue infections, bronchitis (& other lower resp-tract infections) gonorrhea, meningitis, otitis media, peritonitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, UTI. Surgical infection prophylaxis.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult Uncomplicated UTI 125 mg bid. Resp tract infection 250-500 mg bid.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Special Precautions

Not to be given to patients hypersensitive to cefuroxime or other cephalosporins. Patients w/ history of allergy.

Adverse Reactions

GI disturbances, including diarrhea, nausea, & vomiting. Erythema multiforme, SJS & TEN (rare).
