HTN Initially 150 mg once daily, increased if necessary to 300 mg once daily. Renal disease in hypertensive type II DM patient Initially 150 mg once daily.

Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Patients w/ renal artery stenosis, abnormally low pressure, serious muscle damage that may lead to kidney failure, giant hives, decreased blood vol, high amount of K in blood, muscle pain & tenderness w/ increase creatine kinase. Pregnancy & lactation.
Hypotension in vol depleted patients. Hyperkalemia. Monitor serum K conc especially in elderly & patients w/ renal impairment. Concomitant use w/ K-sparing diuretics.
Potentiated antihypertensive effects by drugs or other agents that lower BP. Increased risk of renal impairment & attenuation of hypotensive effects w/ NSAIDs. Other angiotensin II receptor antagonists.
