Granules Prevention of dehydration Dissolve 1 sachet in 200 mL of water, give as much fluid as the child or adult wants until diarrhea or vomiting stops. Adult & other childn As much fluid as they want, childn 2-10 yr 100-200 mL, <2 yr 50-100 mL. Treatment of dehydration Dissolve 1 sachet in 200 mL of water. Childn 2-5 yr w/ 12-19 kg900-1,400 mL, 12-24 mth w/ 10-<12 kg 700-900 mL, 4-12 mth w/ 6-<10 kg 400-700 mL, Up to 4 mth w/ <6 kg 200-400 mL.
Follow directions for dilutions & recommended amount according to wt &/or age of patient & intended use to avoid underdosing or overdosing. May be used in severe dehydration only if IV fluid is not available. Consult doctor if the patient passes many stools, very thirsty, has sunken eyes, seems not getting better after 3 days, has fever, does not eat or drink normally, having difficulty in breathing or is breathing fast, has trouble or pain in swallowing food, vomiting w/ blood or has bloody or black stools.
