Febutor-40/Febutor-80 Adverse Reactions

The most commonly reported adverse reactions in clinical trials (4,072 subjects treated at least with a dose from 10 mg to 300 mg) and post-marketing experience are gout flares, liver function abnormalities, diarrhoea, nausea, headache, rash and oedema. These adverse reactions were mostly mild or moderate in severity. Rare serious hypersensitivity reactions to febuxostat, some of which were associated to systemic symptoms, have occurred in the post-marketing experience.
Talk to a doctor before taking febuxostat: If the patient has or has had heart failure or heart problems; if the patient has or has had renal disease and/or serious allergic reaction to Allopurinol (a medication used for the treatment of Gout); if the patient has or has had liver disease or liver function test abnormalities; if the patient is being treated for high uric acid levels as a result of Lesch-Nyhan syndrome (a rare inherited condition in which there is too much uric acid in the blood); if the patient has thyroid problems.
