Acute bacterial cystitis & urethro-vesical syndrome, acute episodes of recurrent bacterial cystitis, aspecific bacterial urethritis. Asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy. Post-op UTI. Prophylaxis of UTI during surgery & trans-urethral diagnostic maneuvers.
AdultAcute uncomplicated infection of low urinary tract (cystitis, non-gonococcal urethritis) 1 sachet in single daily administration. Prophylaxis of urinary infection after surgery or trans-urethral diagnostic maneuver 1 sachet 3 hr prior to surgery & 1 sachet 24 hr after 1st dose. Elderly, bed-ridden patient 2nd dose could be necessary 24 hr after 1st dose.

Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Dissolve in ½ glass of water (at least 50 mL) & drink immediately preferably prior the night resting, after voiding bladder. Take 1 hr prior to or 2 hr after food ingestion.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ severe renal insufficiency (CrCl <10 mL/min) or those who undergone haemodialysis. Childn <12 yr.
Never re-administer if hypersensitivity reactions occur. Not recommended in patients w/ fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency. Pregnancy & lactation.
Reduced oral absorption w/ metoclopramide. Absorption may be delayed w/ food. Effect may be reduced w/ medicines that increase the movement of stomach or intestines eg, bethanechol, cisapride, domperidone & laxatives.
